What have you found under your rear seat

Post by MoggyBlue »

So, was working on Norma today and thought I'd take the back seat out to see if there was rust lurking underneath but I was suprised to find everything solid and this was in it's place aswell, I'm guessing either it was used for the carpet or fell out of someones pocket....... Do not know about cutting carpets more like bodies.
Did the car previously belong to a vet or a surgeon? OR a gangland enforcer 8)

Was replacing the floor panels on our '61 saloon, had it on a rotisserie. After turning it over and back numerous times a very rusty 10mm X 12mm Toyota wrench fell out. Don't know where it was hiding but suspect it may have been in the area of one of the A pillars and the inner fender.

I lost my Elora 10mm "wrench" recently - kept it in the cab as it
fits the battery terminal bolts.

Great shame 'cos I had it since the early '80s!

I sense a conspiracy, although NO "Grassy Knolls" nearby!
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

After I got the 948cc taking the rear base up, half a crown (1962 I think).

More annoyingly, the soundproofing tarred horsehair constantly disintegrating, the car always smells dusty,

In the 1098 2 door, oddments of surface rust, repainted,paint-lifted,will have to try a different primer for the enamel.

In Steveys project we found a very large rats nest, thankfully empty but very smelly with the nest going into the box section under the seat full of paper and horse hair padding from the seats and bits of bone - minging......... :(
