Indicators

Post by bobinyeovil »

The indicators have stopped working on my wife's 1972 Traveller. This seems to be one side first stopped working then the other. My feeling is that this is the indicator stalk/switch possibly worn. Is there anything else that I should be looking for?

thanks

that can happen, although it is fairly rare - try wiggling it, or leaning on it a little forwards or backwards to see if it makes contact.
The very common thing with indicators is poor connections, so check all of those too (right from eht switch to the bulbs and onwards to the earths.

If you need to get to the switch you have to remove the steering wheel so that you can get the black plastic cover off. Then you can see most of the guts of the switch so it should all be fairly self explanitory then - You may have to build up the contacts with solder, or find a replacement switch (worth about £10 second hand but tend to go for £25 on e-bay)

Good luck!
