Windscreen wiper quirey

Post by MoggyBlue »

Heya Norma needed new blades and thought I'd get some refills so did a search on here and were saying maybe £shop so got some from 99p store and going to cut the blades down

Got home took the frames off and realised one is rainbow and one is Trico are these both good makes :-? Or should I possibly get matching frames or are these alright

If the refills fit they will be fine, I found though that the poundland refills were too narrow and made the chrome part of the wiper touch the screen thankfully they didnt scratch it. I got a wider refill from a car shop and it was a much better job.

the best blade holders to get are the ones for flat screens they actually work a lot better than the ones for curved screens
look on ebay for jag ones they are the same size 11 inch

Clean and treat the screen with RainX - makes a BIG difference!

I agree about RainX. My blades are rubbish but the 'screen still clears well with RainX applied. I suspect that the Minor's steep screen aids it by giving a relatively faster airflow locally compared with that of many modern vehicles. Regards, MikeN.

yeah think i may get some rainx and think i may try the jaguar frame and see what i can do but the blade i have fitted does not fit propery as the frame catches the screen so gunna have to get some more expensive proper refills
