Hi 2 door saloon originally had short bonnet has full bumpers and what's left of a lowlight grill. It is modified but log book has it as 1950.

The LBM question kicked off a couple of years ago when the person running the South African Minor Register contacted me to find out what I knew about the moulding. It is another of those modifications along with the curved engine compartment chassis crossmember which seems to have been missed off the published lists. It was first fitted to the Series MM in mid 1950 and continued until 57/8? Logic says that it should have been changed when the roof was altered for the larger rear screen and one piece front screen but that was not the case. I think that the convertible theory is a red herring

I have conclusive proof it IS linked to Convertables!

Their are exceptions to every rule!
This seems to be a complcated subject which needs clarifying by correct designation of model types ie Series MM, Series II (2) and Series 3 (948). Should we not be seeking out the last chassis no with LBM and first with SBM? We know that the LBM was fitted from mid 1950 so we can just concentrate on the 57/8 cars.
Moggyland's car would have one piece bumpers from late 1950 and high headlights from early 51 unless they had been changed. It would be difficult to change from a short to long bonnet (late 51)

I had a 57 that had the moulding, I saw an early 58 last week that does not have it. My May 1950 lowlight does not have the moulding, the earliest I have saw with it is December 1950 and that was an Irish built ckd car, sorry Chris I dont have any of the chassis numbers except my lowlight

752 XUK, chassis no. SN-TNU 28395. 1140cc Morris 10 engine. Certainly a unique car. Would love to know more about it, any more photos, engine etc? Does it have a chassis number stamped on the engine comp. bulkhead?

My '51 High-light 2dr has this moulding[frame]

The kiosk dome , you see in the background, is a complete '54 K6 with all the period appropriate internal contents (in need of another paint job - paint obtained, just need a time slot - one of too many projects
) Just need a green GPO Telephones van with rubber wings and "frog eye" lamps to go with it - or do I?

Do any of these have the underdash strengthening as installed
on standard Convertables?
Amazingly, over 150 bodyshell type codes were used on UK built Minor's
throughout production - that is the number prefixed by a "Z" - which as it
seems was NEVER recorded, same for the "progressive" body number
during the mass CKD years!
Did a few paragraphs and a dating list just prior to my PC waving the white
flag.
Therefore, along with a working Laptop, will need a body service parts book,
covering the MM and Series 11 model.

It has no number stamped in bulkhead.
I bought the car from a bloke up the road who had purchased it for the original reg which is LLF 996 he then wanted rid so I had it. All I can work out is that it came from Inverness and may be a car dealer had it going by the two Glass's car guides of 65 and 66. the address on them is Messer E.K.Freight Ltd. Car sales Dept. 6 Ladies Walk.
I have more photos but may have to start a new thread.[frame]
