Re: austin van
my brakes dont seem to be very good as the pedal seems to go to the floor now and again. when you get presure it holds for a bit then slowly goes down to the floor. its got worse resently so now is the time for new master cylinder i think. when i did the brakes up i just put seals in and i think these are failing now, anty thoughts?
are these any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lockheed-Brak ... 1197wt_795

Re: austin van
Here is my teal blue Austin Van.
Registered 1973.
56,000 genuine miles.
I have had different coloured vans in the past but I think this is the best.
I sold my Almond Green van and restored this one...side by side I much preferred this colour.
I would finish yours in Teal Blue.
Good luck with the project.

Re: austin van
I quite like that horrible aqua blue actually. If you're planning on restoring the car completely it would surely grab attention in such an unusual colour!
It is your car however, so whichever colour you like best is the one to go to. You can do a restoration thread to show your progress and ask for advice.

Re: austin van
thanks for that not sure what i was doing wrong. got back from being away with it towing the caravan. went ok, apart from going up a long hill. i sort of cained it a bit to get a run up and then down to 3rd and made it up in that gear. it smelt very hot. checked it a few miles further and everything seemed fine. when i checked the water to come home i had to put a few pints in it. think it boiled abi going up hill and spewed a bi of water out. we got home ok
Re: austin van

Re: austin van
yes someone else said that to me the other day, he was from pontypridd. i have recently met the guy i bought it off and he has sent me some pics of when he bought it and the ownership docs. it turns out that i am the 3rd owner with the chap i bought it off being a middle man.
it turns out the 1st owner lives 6 miles away from me and moved from a farm in monmouthshire and that makes it right with the reg no.
not sure why it was painted this colour, perhaps it was ordered for said electric board and they never had it.
