My newly purchased saloon has been fitted with new floorpans at some time in the past. I noticed today that there's no heatshield fitted to the floor above the silencer. Is it worth fitting one, or best to leave it off to prevent it trapping water & corroding the floor? Does the silencer create enough heat to cause a problem?
Thanks.
Neil.

Re: Heatshield query
The heat shields in both my minors have been removed. They are a rust / water trap which your better off without, besides when they are installed you can't underseal / protect the floorpan.

Re: Heatshield query
The only place about 5'' in area that has needed to be cut out and patched on my 1955 floor.was an area under the heat shield.def leave it off and if you have one fitted remove it.
