No pulling power.
Another job for me,i notice when i try to drive up a slope the car won,t pull it just wants to cut out probley another easy fix the engines ticking over fine no putt, putt out of it sound ok but the pulling power is terrible.Would this be points not set correctly, carb needing set?

Re: No pulling power.
Could be almost anything! To start - does the carb piston rise and fall freely? Have you optimised the dizzy timing by turning it back and forth to get 'best' idle?

Yeah the carb piston is moving freeley and no i haven,t moved the dizzy timing.just want to be carefull not to make things worse by tinkering. Would the carb not set right possibley cause this?
Re: No pulling power.
Of course! Anything would really. Does the engine 'rev up' ok? Is it running on all 4 cylinders? Are the plug leads on correct order - 1342 ant-clockwise round the dizzy cap ? Are the valve gaps set correctly ? A compression test would tell us if there are any basic problems with the engine...

Engine revs up ok.its running on all four cylinders.plug leads are on the correct ways.but i will check the valve gaps just to be 100% sure and the points gap also.A compression test is also a good idea thanks.
