The borrowers 1951 Morris Oxford Limo.

Post by Ikaros97 »

Hello all,

My first post was just to inform everyone that I am the new owner of the old Moggy Oxford.

The car is now taxed and on the road and has just completed a 150 mile journey with no issues. It is now off the road for some refurb work which is expected to last around 3 to 4 weeks.

The car, and driver, will be available for weddings, drop offs and events in Manchester and the North West soon. Car will have a minibar, TV and a passenger controlled Bluetooth stereo system so passengers can play their music in the car from any bluetooth device.

I will keep everyone updated with its progress soon. I will quash one rumour now though.

The cars chassis is very good, and strong. I think this was done in 2004 as it had a major chassis upgrade at that time.

Its electrics are somewhat......well.......just not great and if anyone knows who wired the lights I would like them to get intouch pleaseeeee.

Its engine is very good and has now had a full and comprehensive service (I know its a Ford 2.0) but its quicker than a real Moggy hehe.

Speak to you all soon and its good to be here.

Hi,

Where in the NW are you? I'm handy with electrics if you need a hand.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car is in Astley just off the A580 at the moment.

Hi,
Saw you on the road, week before last in it, on A49 near Northwich. (I was in the brown Minor van waving, going the other way :) ).
Guess you were on the way home from Brightwells Auction - good price, well bought. Much better than the silly prices it had been offered for over the last few years. I expect you'll do well businesswise with it.
cheers
Iain
