Hey I haven't even found my little morris minor yet but I'm so excited about getting one I have started to think what he or she might be called and would love to know what people have already come up with
Hi,
Mine is 'Abby'.
Gleaned from the first couple of letters in her registration.
Best wishes,
Mike.
1954 Series 2: 4 door: "Sally" -- Back on the ground with (slave) wheels, now being sprayed by me, slowly......
1970 Triumph Herald 1200: "Hetty" -- Driven back from Llangollen in Wales (twice.....)
1952 Morris Minor MM highlight with sidevalve engine still fitted, wants work, so joins the queue for now......
Yup , mine is Molly Weir, after the wee Scottish actress of the same name, she was hardy, and long lived, always with a smile and a hard worker, from a poor background who made good in this tough world, just like our minors
I've had a few, and had to name them all
1 - Yasmin (reg YAS 610)
2 - Sophie (reg SFO 892)
3 - Phoenix (christened by previous owner)
4 - Maggie (reg MAG 780G)
5 - Charlie (after the particularly generous previous owner).
Thought I would just jump in here even though my "new" car is a 1956 Oxford.
After much thought we decided to call her Myrtle because it is a bit old fashioned and it begins with M. Ten minutes after telling a friend about this he sent the following:
There once was an Oxford named Myrtle
Whose name came from rhyming with turtle
For her shape is the same
And her speed rather lame
Dear Myrtle's too old now to hurtle
Oh dear, I see that two Minors still grace my signature line. I must fix that as both have now found new homes.
We recently bought a minor called Monty,
Condition, very nice but not quite Diamante,
We tore around the lanes of Worcestershire County,
Sometimes at sixty sometimes close to ninety,
And it certainly scared the sh*t out of my great auntie!
Depends on what now resides under the bonnet............
