Hi
Can someone with a later saloon post a photo of how the later style of boot lid prop is fitted, please?
I have acquired one of the later props and I want to put it on my car, but here in Oz production ceased in about 1961.
Cheers
Don

Three rivets to boot lid just above(below when bootlid down) the slot for the rubber clip for earlier prop.
Create mounting plate to boot lip at a convienent location.
I suppose a pair of gas struts could also be rigged in a similar way
Note with the lock-in strut/prop your weekly bread shopping, if not sliced when bought will be when you get home

Thanks v much whyperion.
That gives me a good idea of how it is mounted.
However, I want to reproduce the factory fitting as closely as possible.
If someone has a photo they would post, or could take one, I would much appreciate it.
Regards
Don

Wrong strut, but you can see the mountings. Three threaded holes in the boot lid frame and a lower strap, with 2 nuts and bolts, from the boot flange to the inner arch.[frame]

I put the gas strut on so I could open/close the boot with one hand. One strut was enough.

Hi Roni
Thanks for that.
I never would have guessed that there would be a fancy bracket like the one shown inside the boot.
Cheers

I should have added that it is a 1965 English assembled car.
