What colour were bodyshells prior to painting?
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

I asked for that!

The case involves a 1956 WHITE S11 4dr which, according to BMIHT records, was
built/despatched BLACK!

Any suggestions?

The bodyshell that the Club owns is either black or very dirty. Any new panel that I have seen has always been black, so it sounds reasonable as a general protection against the atmosphere.

Some LCV's were supplied in primer, may help with your 'quest'?

Usually, with claims, a BMIHT Certificate is sufficient for DVLA.

However, on THIS occation - as the HC doesn't match - I've had to contact 2 possible
county archives to find contempory registration records that hopefully DO add up.
