wheel squeak

Ive got a Squeak coming from my front drivers side wheel.think it may be the bearings.if so is it expensive to repair?.

Does it happen when you jack the wheel up and spin it?
A squeak from the front is normally the eye bolt bushes in need of replacement.

No, but care needs to be taken where working on the suspension because of the energy stored in the torsion bar.

Is the squeak in phase with wheel rotation - or as the suspension moves.... Maybe just brake shoe rubbing? Check the wheel nuts are tight!

Make sure that there are no cracks radiating from the wheel stud holes. Also check the welds/studs where the rim joins the wheel centre.

The last wheel squeek I had (the same wheel incidentally) I took off the brake drum, brushed away all the brake shoe dust (wear a face mask) and the squeek squeeked no more.
Worth a try before attempting all the big stuff.

Cheers.however, due to a lack of a garage and lack of time ive put it in to my local classic car garage.hopefully will find out more soon.

Yeah at the moment ive not got any choice, im in the army and rarely get any time to restore it myself and ive not got acess to anywhere I can work on it myself.so its Chertsey minors garage until I get a house with a garage in the distant future.
