Morris minor quaterlights

Post by Captain flint »

Hi,
My name is Martin and I am a newby.
Just got my first Minor 1000 which is about 80% finished.
A couple of questions,
Are 4 door and 2 door quaterlights the same?
How can I identify which type of disc brakes I have fitted?
Are 13" mini lights O.k for this car?
Many thanks for looking.
Best regards,
Martin.

Hi and welcome,
Marina discs are single, ford type ones are vented:

If you mean the quarter-lights on the front doors then very probably, as BMC / BL did like to raid the parts bin whenever possible  .
Save yourself some money, try running yours on standard wheels with tubeless radials from the likes of Bull Motif, they're perfectly fit for purpose (and can be used tubeless).
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Welcome to the messageboard!

1/4 lights are the same, although originally 2 doors were fitted with painted steel ones and travellers and 4 doors had stainless. Often they have been changed to the stainless ones a s they dont rust

I have Ford type discs fitted to my car as per Mike picture the callipers are to the front of the car. Not seen Marina discs but looking at Mike picture the calliper is to the rear of the car. So this is another difference in the two types

That's odd, I've got Marina discs and the calipers are at the front! I suppose it depends which kit you've got. Mine has a home brewed set-up fitted by the previous owner.
