Petrol pump thread size

I have been running my 1098 with a mini pump for some years. Apart from perished rubber seals recently (which is when I found out it was a mini one thanks to this forum!) it was never a problem. Yesterday it cut out when hot and it looks like the points are shot. I have ordered a new aua66 pump which is correct I believe.

However I am going to need to convert my rubber hose (clamped to the inlet fuel pipe) to screw on to the new pump. Can anyone tell me the thread size of the inlet brass union that is on the pump? I'm hoping I can get something on eBay.

Will a stock part work? I'm not sure because all I have on the mini pump inlet is the metal fuel pipe from the tank joined to a rubber pipe with a jubilee clip. So unless the stock screw on joint attaches to the fuel line with a plumbing style compression joint I'll be scuppered. If it's fitted to the fuel line with a flared brake pipe type fitting then I guess someone cut mine off when they fitted the mini pump!

If I can find the thread type for the new aua66 pump inlet (which should arrive tomorrow) then maybe I can find an adapter that screws on like the outlet. Or would the outlet adapter actually fit the inlet?

This is what you need to adapt your cut inlet pipe & its 1/4" BSP . You can then slide a piece of fuel pipe over the union and pipe with clamps and the job is done. I would advise not to use a compression joint or you may be sucking air or have a fuel leak.

The direct link from here does not seem to work but the part you require is available from Burlen and they are called 'flow stems'.

Many thanks for the info that's just what I needed. I did manage to get it from a pipe and thread shop just round the corner from work! All sorted now and fuel flowing as it should
