Hi all,
Looking to change the bushes when I reassemble, noticed two materials available
Polyurethane - more expensive
Rubber - cheaper
Does this mean the former is 'better'?
Could someone explain the advantages/disadvantages to both?
I'm sure someone else will find this thread useful one day! I can't be the only one wondering this...
Many thanks in advance, Edd.

Re: Polyurethane VS Rubber bushes?
Thank you!
I think I'd read somewhere about the need to grease them before putting them on? Is that right? Just general multipurpose grease?
Cheers again, I'll get them ordered up for front and back!

Re: Polyurethane VS Rubber bushes?
I agree that the modern rubber bushes do not last long. Mind you the original BMC/BL ones did not last much longer especially the eye bolt ones.
Yes poly bushes on the front and rear are the way to go. Dependent upon what you want to pay there are different grades and at different prices available. Plenty of info on the technical message board.
As regards the greasing of the poly bushes yes grease before fitting. Some say white grease some say red but I have tried them both but never found any difference from using general purpose grease on poly bushes.
I do fit grease nipples to the under side of the eye bolts so as to allow greasing of the eye bolt bushes with general purpose grease as they are the ones with the most load placed upon them and it works for me.

Re: Polyurethane VS Rubber bushes?
I got poly on both my Traveller and mini, they're great!! The old urethane bushings would squeak but the poly in the urethane is like a self lubricant so they don't squeak. You can grease them, I do and ask for white or red grease? To me it doesn't matter
