Morris 8 sidevalve engine

Is this exactly the same as MMs? as I have the chance of buying one

There are a few differences. Do you know the engine type? (UB? USHM? 2, 3?)

Morris 8's had a different piston (less rings and a slightly lower compression)
Depending on the engine type it may not have an oil filter
Depending on the engine type it may have a different head (affects dynamo mounting and thermostat or lack of, also the radiator hose will need to be a bit different)

Not sure what type is it, a guy showed up and told me he had a morris 8 sidevalve engine for sale! thats why im askin

The water outlet on the head being vertical is the easiest way but the block has the oil filler tube further forward compared to the Minor engine.

The flywheel's different too, in the tooth count.

Also look for a circular brass tag on the side of the engine, down near the oil filler pipe
