I'll be coiled !

We have changed everything that can be changed in the ignition system. The fuel supply is fine yet car will not fire.
Have tested for sparks etc. so the fault seems to be in the coil. Can this be tested? There was no spark the coil HTlead

First it's never the coil
Next test for 12v on the white wire to the coil.
Connect a spark plug to the coil HT lead, just tap an earth and remove it on to the white/black wire (CB on the coil) it should spark.
If it does'nt its the coil, if it does check that points are opening and closing and are set at 15thou, change the capacitor.
Is the firing order correct?

Great answer! If you have a meter - measure across the coil terminals (cables removed) - should show 3.2 ohms if good.

Have done all of the above . Still no joy. 12v going into the coil no spark coming out have checked the HT lead and it is sound. So is the coil.
Everything checks out. But no spark. Have run out of things to check apart from suicide or a big mashie hammer what next ? Help!

Problem now solved!
Earthing out in distributor.
