Speedo noise

Post by vibrodolly »

Hello,
I hope this post is in the correct section.

When cold (weather) my speedo SN4466 make the most awful grating noise and reads rubbish up/down about 30-40 MPH.
When warmed, it settles or in warm weather its ok, though does vary about 10MPH as we go along.
Miles are accurate.

I think it needs attention. Any Ideas what? Is it a rebuild? How easy is this? If specialist, anyone know of a good place local top Essex/ East London?

Thanks

Nick

The cable needs lubricating w/light grease or vaseline.

If it's been like that for a while - maybe best to fit a new cable now.........

New cable, easier fit than I ever imagined.
