thank you for your comments.

the light and chrome surround i purchased on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290811090101
you need to select the lv5\lv16 option ( red lens chrome surround )

the boot badge came from esm.. but i would have thought most of the moggy centres sell them.

How does the brightness compare to the brake lights?

I think the fact that it is more in the line of vision of the driver behind is enough to make this mod worthwhile. I've noticed a few places selling these LEDs as indicators, so I'd imagine they'd give out roughly the same light output as a 21w bulb.

Its taken me a while to get around to this but I think a pretty good mod for under £15. The hardest thing to do was establishing where the centre was to drill the 20mm hole. Answers on a postcard please.[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

This has got me a bit confused? The references to the LV5 LED all lead to rectangular sidelights? The LED pictured in this thread is round?Sorry if I'm being more stupid than usual. Can someone enlighten me?

Hi,
Excellent idea! :P And not expensive!! :D
The only thing that occurs to me is that it looks like a sealed unit, so I take it that when the bulb (LED) eventually goes you have to replace the whole lot?
Best wishes,
Mike.

Bulbs are £5.65 at the moment as no need to buy the chrome ring again, hoping that the led's have a long life as it could become an expensive mod if they do not stand the test of time.
