Wanted - 4 wheel bolts + front hub grease cap for 1951 MM

Post by busguy »

Does anyone have these secondhand 1951 spares surplus to their requirements, please?
I need 4 wheel securing bolts measuring 5/8" across the head, plus a front wheel bearing grease cap for a 1951 MM.
Many thanks for reading this.

Check that the bolt holes in the wheel are not worn or the wheel may wobble on 5/8 a/f wheel bolts. You would be better with 3/8 whit head bolts as fitted on the early SII. Alternatively you can convert to studs and wheel nuts

Hi Mike
Thanks for that. Three wheels have the '5/8" across the flats' bolts, and one wheel for some reason has smaller headed ones, which I want to change.
I checked all the wheels and the holes are all ok and do not appear to be out of shape.
If someone has 16 of the larger headed bolts you describe available, then I am happy to change them all. I don't want to go for studs and nuts.

Have you checked if the bolts are BSF (18 TPI) or UNF (20 TPI)?
