Riley 1.5 front brakes
I am fitting Riley 1.5 front brakes to the moggie to improve braking performance along with the already installed servo. From having done so in the past I know that the Riley1.5 hose will not directly connect to the moggie brake pipe as the unions do not correspond. In the past I made up a short conversion piece of brake pipe from the moggie pipework to the Riley hose. Age has dimmed the memory. Does anyone know the Riley union size that will fit one end of the conversion pipe and also the size that will connect with the moggie pipework? I do know that the braking performance was enhanced a good deal. Does bmecosse run this set up?
Re: Riley 1.5 front brakes
I have the Wolseley 9" front brakes - which are a 'straight fit'. I thought I had read before that the R brakes DID fit the Minor pipe. Have you checked, and found it not working? Pretty much all brake cylinders of that era used 3/8" UNF fittings, although of course the Minor does have some 3/8" BSF fittings elsewhere in the system - and I suppose it's possible the Riley uses that size? I certainly don't need a servo with the W brakes - but I believe the R brakes are 'heavy' - so your servo is probably a good idea! Do let us know how it all works out.

Have a look at this previous post:

I have the Riley front brakes on mine. Not a heavy pedal, and very powerful brakes with plenty of feel. (no servo fitted or needed)

I suspect I will find that its a case of BSF to UNF unless my minor of years ago was non standard for some reason.
