speedo help

Post by AndrewT »

hello guys and girls whilst out driving Friday in the sunshine in my series 2 I noticed a little ticking noise coming from behind my dash (I have the clocks behind the steering wheel) I assumed it was the speedo cable and then bam few more miles the speedo stopped I have a 1098 fitted with a 948 box from what I can gather (conversion was carried out before my ownership)

would this speedo cable fit my gearbox fitting but also the back of my speedo clock does anyone have a idea?

Hi Andrew, the link takes you to a blank page on Bull Motif. Heres a link to what you need from East Sussex, its just a slightly longer version than fitted to the one with the central speedo but the ends are the same.

The early Series MM cables were well made with brass end fittings, later M 1000 cables had cheapo soft alloy end fittings. They are however interchangeable.
