heater tap

Post by John33 »

The heater tap seems to have seized up on my '65 2 door - can it be rescued if I remove it or do I need to get a new one?

As long as it is seized OPEN - I would leave it alone! As for repair/overhaul - depends what type it is ! Knurled knob on top - or simple lever on the side...... or lever connected to knob inside the car?

Take the cable off the valve - does it move by hand? Check the hoses are not kinked shut anywhere - and feel the hoses for warmth.... Could also be absent or stuck-open thermostat.
