Timing cover question.

Post by vicfox47 »

Dear all,
Thanks for your advice with the crankshaft but question, I now discover that the timing cover and chain is from a 1275 although the engine is a 1098 10V. Why would someone change it and should it have the damper pulley rather than the normal Minor pulley?
Regards,
Vic.

Timing cover will fit all - just use it. If it has a breather can, you may need to 'adjust' the fan blades to avoid collision... A crankshaft damper is always a GOOD thing - but not essential on a standard engine.
