Hi Everyone,
I'm a little bit of advice please.... I've noticed that my 'Moggy' has a clicking noise coming from the fuel pump when the engine is running. I've got an in-line fuel filter and you can see that the clicking is coinciding with the pumping of the fuel in the system.
Is the sound normal or is it a sign of something amiss
Best Regards
Chrsi

Re: Fuel pump
its normal, but you do not need an inline fuel filter, there is one in the pump

Re: Fuel pump
OK Cheers
Re: Fuel pump
Be worried when it stops!
Usually it clunks away at about once two twice a second ish. If it starts racing that's probably due to evaporation (or an empty tank) where it's pumping fumes/air. This can happen on hot days and it'll still keep the float full but if the pump is going mad and the engine is dying that's probably the issue.
