Although I am only a few month into owning my moggy, and a learner too boot, I use him every day. Only when my supervised driver to work is on holiday or something then I use my motorbike.

I think the only classics I see are mini's. And that's only a couple occasionally

I drive mine everyday! As I did with the super minx Its great to see all you others using them daily I have treated mine to a new recon engine and I have just popped some modern seats in her! Might even get a respray next year if its lucky ;) StaffsMoggie im in rugeley too!!

I use my car most days its starting to show paint now fading lots of rust spots .So needs hand painting soon

I used to alternate between my minor and my transit (N reg) until 5 years ago when I got a new job and mileage increased dramatically.

As both needed a lot of work (and still do...) I bought a diesel modern (escort at the time) which ended up needing even more work until it was scrapped!

If I was doing my current work in a minor it would (probably) need an engine every 2 years, suspension greased every 1 - 2 weeks an oil change every ~4 weeks etc etc. Its just not practical. As it is I have to service my modern 4 times a year. And... when something does go wrong its a major issue as I work away from home

I bought my Traveller in January specifically because I needed a commuting car for average 4 days a week. I do a 40 mile round trip, much of it on motorways. LOVE IT !

Been saving up with my dad and brother over the last couple of years to treat mum to the car of her dreams and now this is her everyday run around. She only probably does like 10 miles a day commute to work but having been in the car a few times with her I think it puts as many smiles on other peoples faces as it does on hers.

I use my Minor van most days as im a gardener and use it to my gardening tools.Its been off the road a few days because I renewed the the front brakes on it.

I use mine daily to get to Sheffield, from here just outside Huddersfield. 70 miles a day, or 280 a week (just to get to Sheffield and back ;)).

I use my 1970 Traveller as a daily, now on 153,000+ miles.

In fact, I sold my 'modern' car, a 1998 Peugeot 306 Cabriolet on Monday, having only owned it since June of last year - I only used it for about a month and a half before the cambelt snapped, bending 10 valves!

It then sat about in the street for 5 months until the garage around the corner from me finally got around to fixing it. Couldn't wait to be shot of it - duplex chain-driven A-series FTW!

Abbey is my everyday car too.
I did buy a VW Polo whilst I was commuting back to Milton Keynes (on the M1) for my old job but as soon as I found a new job up here the Polo went.
I do still want a second car, as soon as I can afford it, however that will be a classic too! I fancy a split screen cheesegrater...............

Well, i do. Just stumbled across this section. I use my moggie every day on a thirty mile round trip. The rebuilding has been going on for about five years on and off and the engine mods are not yet complete - maybe this Easter weekend. My strategy has been to make the car as compatible with the modern demands of motoring in respect of safety, traffic speed and critically queing for hours!. To this end many things are uprated although visually all you see are the wider alloys and spotlights. For me re-siting the petrol pump, cutting down on underbonnet head and having an electric fan are such a boon. 1098 engine is sensibly upgraded with Maniflow bits, bigger carb and 12gG940 head. I meet other moggies and a black Riley 1.5 from time to time. Just having the car standing feels like watching it decay.

Anyone got a 1275 with 5 speed for sale.....????????

The one thing I have never been able to work out is that some people say they never use their car in the rain. What happens if it STARTS to rain when they are out in their car - do they instantly turn in to the nearest multi-storey carpark or what? Can anyone enlighten me please?

Perhaps they check the weather forecast first and don't venture out if there is the slightest possibility that it might rain?

A friend of mine from the East Kent branch had a similar story, 2004 Mondeo diesel broke down and could not be repaired, Minor saloon in regular, mostly reliable service ever since!

I drove my Traveller again today.

Oh and my traveller is completely standard right down to still being +ve earth!

Dinitrol underneath and in the box sections helps my Traveller shrug off the rain!
