Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of doing the head gasket so while I was at it I've decided to do a de-coke especially the valves.
I've noticed that when I remove the inlet valves there appears to be a lot of carbon build up on the underneath of the head of the valve. Even more so than the exhaust valves. Is this a sign of anything ?
The plugs seem OK and she didn't appear to be running rich. Also the valve seating isn't too bad either before I re-lap the valve
Cheers
Chris

Re: De-Coke & Valves
Quite normal - it gets burned away on the exhausts - to an extent. Polish it all off by spinning in a leccy drill - with emery paper -care with eyes/breathing and fingers, of course....
