DVLA are to reinstate the original id for this - subject to an inspection
by yours truly.

Thanks to all of you who sent in their vehicles' body numbers!!
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

After much forensic work, James managed to make out xx3xx6, the body code
narrowed the first 2 digits to 4 possible combinations.

Additionally, we had the original colour, engine & matching rear axle
numbers.
One drawback now is the surrendering of the regn. number, which will
be replaced by the regn of the original/donor 2dr.

Await to find out whether this was also robbed of its original regn.

Prime example of the importance of body numbers!

My greatful thanks to Chris for his forensic persistence with this issue! He is a star.

Awaiting final confirmation of reallocated nos from DVLA.

Can anyone advise as to where I might be able to get new a new chassis plate and body no tag from?

Any thoughts about how I might get the correct body number stamped on the bulkhead?

You can buy sets of punches cheaply enough to stamp the nuumbers, look on ebay, I stamped it back on my landrover when the original was lost due to rust repairs.

Wouldn't have been possible without the hundreds of enthusiasts
out there who have happily quoted details of their Minor's!

Thanks to you all!

James, I can only estimate a prog. nos. as this is includes CKD
production.
