Re: help on a lowlight
There are three different bonnets on the Minor 1948-51 the "short bonnet", 1951-6 the "long bonnet" V shaped at the back and 1956-71 Minor 1000 bonnet with curved back
There are slight differences between boot lids, early boots had a different locking mechanism, 1948-56 had different badges and later M1000s had different boot lid props
Short bonnets had different hinges to long bonnets
Up to early M1000 cars the boot hinges had a slimmer taper
Heater???? Minors were built to be driven wearing overcoat, hat and gloves.
For the early cars a kit was available with a fan belt driven water pump and a circular heater which fitted between the parcel shelf and the switch panel.
For later side valve engines the engine was built to take a water pump and a heater kit was available as an option.
Please send me the details of your car for the register
