My clutch pedal goes nearly to the floor before disengaging the clutch, came as a shock to me after driving a different car for a while!
Is there a way to adjust it? Hope its not a sign of something more major wrong.

Yes - underneath - adjust nut and locknut are there for you to play with on the operating rod - where it joins the clutch arm hanging out of the bellhousing. Adjust till you have ~ 1" 'free travel' on the pedal.

Re: clutch pedal travel

Seems to have only one nut, which was really loose when I poked it (shown undone half an inch). Should there be one either side of that connector the spring is attached to?
Re: clutch pedal travel
Okay, there are two nuts, just both on the same side. One has a rounded bit.

Adjust the nut w/the "rounded bit" and then lock it in place w/the other nut.
Talk slow, think fast!

Oh, I see. The workshop manual made it look like the domed nut was on the opposite side of the rod to the locking nut. Makes sense now! Cheerskaty wrote:Adjust the nut w/the "rounded bit" and then lock it in place w/the other nut.
