BLOCK WATER INLET CASTINGS

Post by sparesman »

These are normally made of alloy and can corrode badly. Have just found in my shed some cast iron version that came off the army engines I got from Switzerland several years ago. If anyone needs one please phone or email me.
Also found lots of other small MM bits that have been in back of my shed for over 20 years.

I might be getting confused here. Is this the same part that's called the water jacket?

No. The water jacket is the alloy casting along the side of the USHM3 engine. The part Bryan is refering to is the casting which connects to the bottom hose which then connects to the rad. On engines with water pumps this is replaced by a blanking plate with a drain tap. It is actually an inlet casting not an outlet as coolant flows from the rad into the engine
