1960's Road Films

Post by minor65 »

Spotted these on YouTube. Brilliant old films, plenty of minors. Especially the second one at 16 mins 20 sec in.

Many thanks for posting the two films on here.
They brought back lots of memories of motoring in the days when I first started driving and not forgetting the rail and shipping side of the 2nd film either.
The by-pass issues then especially the lack of passing trade are being experienced these days with new by-passes being built everywhere.
The problem is that we want to get everywhere too quickly!!!

I agree, the world moved at a slower pace when our cars were current and we were probably allot happier and less stressed for it!!
Best wishes,
Mike.
1954 Series 2: 4 door: "Sally" -- Back on the ground with (slave) wheels, now being sprayed by me, slowly......
1970 Triumph Herald 1200: "Hetty" -- Driven back from Llangollen in Wales (twice.....)
1952 Morris Minor MM highlight with sidevalve engine still fitted, wants work, so joins the queue for now......

Yes the world moved at a slower pace then but in my younger days I wanted to go faster than the world and so started tuning engines to enable me to do so. Now as a pensioner I would just like to keep up with the speed of the world. How times have changed!
