try using a product called 'stormshore' over the repairs. I furst came across this when my mum used it to seal a repair which she had made to a horse rug, and subsequrently used it on my cover over a repair and it has worked well. I've also used it on Mavis' roof, incidently!NOEL wrote:I have also used the "stormforce" cover for the last 3 years. I have found it works well but you need to be careful, they can rip if caught on a sharp edge, then they will let in water , I have had two small tares in mine, one by the bonnet area one over the roof,in spite of repairs i have struggled to keep it 100% watertight since in these zones . The rips were inflicted removing the cover after last years snow, prior to that it was bone dry, having said that it is a very small patch which seeps through, the comment about condensation is also accurate. The securing straps work well and I still think they are worth the money if you have no garage or car port

Re: Car cover for 4 door morris
I have now owned a Stormforce 4-ply cover, tailored for a Traveller, for just over 3 weeks. These have been the worst three weeks, in recent memory, for heavy wind-blown rain.
The Traveller is "bone dry" under the cover. There was a very slight "condensation" on the paintwork in the first week, but this has disappeared.
Stormforce for me - and they are a nice "snug" elasticated fit to front & back, with enough lateral slack to allow wind movement and no close contact with paintwork - see the same cover fitted to Paul Tubby's traveller, earlier on in this thread.
A pity that I didn't know about these originally as I could have saved my paintwork finish.
Please refer to my earlier posts showing the collected water within the "duff" cover.
Regards, George.
