Evening all ... I have a 63 traveller (almond green )
I was looking for a white one until this came up
My question is ...if I was to change it to white would it loose
It's value ??

No not if it is properly re sprayed inside/out including the engine bay etc

Sounds like you've done well, at £2000 that is a cheap traveller you have found, you'd have to do a pretty poor job of painting it to lose money.Becko wrote:Paid £2000 for the car, and yes it would be a complete colour change

Personally, I would keep the colour if it's the original coat applied at the factory. That tends to add to the value of the car. Also if it's a 1963 Almond green car the interior should be porcelain green with green carpets. If you went ahead and painted the car and had the green interior it would give away the fact that it was a different colour and intern, may devalue the car (it also depends on people's personal views, some go by originality, others go by condition.) I believe the interior colour of an Old English White car should be tartan red with red carpets. One final thing is that if you used another type of white and not O E W some may take that into account when valuing it. And yes as others have said too, the quality of the paint and type will also affect the value.

All of the above are good valid points.
Going by the title of this topic though, another factor to consider though is why you bought the car in the first place.......
If you bought it because you've always wanted one and intend to keep it forever, then you can have it done well at your leisure, then enjoy the car you wanted in the colour you wanted.....
If all you are worried about is it's value, as you've bought it as an investment, then you are probably best keeping it totally original with a sympathetic restoration, to bring it up to scratch where needed.
