Back to upholstry repair - I've received some samples, this morning, of "beige" colours from Matrim (the last link I posted up).
A couple of them are quite a close match, bearing in mind the March 1951 age of the original material and the grubbiness.[frame]Image[/frame]

Second in from the left looks about right. Especially if you can "age it with a bit of dirt" :D

My younger brother (who used to own a couple of LCV's back in the mid '70s) also suggested this shade (biscuit).
I took the panel and samples with me when I visited him this afternoon.
If I do a "renovation", it would be to all the covered parts, so "ageing" wouldn't be required.
Thanks for the second "second opinion". George.

Thanks for high jacking my thread about our Morris series 11, and commenting about your upholstery repair. :D

I have found some replacement seats hopefully for the front of our car.
good second hand ones will look just right with the rest of the interior.

I have already started to fit some better chrome I have and fit new clips to the door panels so they fit properly.

The car just needs some cosmetic work to be carried out, it is surprising the difference it makes.

The seats are the later type Series II with vertical pleating and metal base. The Series MM/early Series II had horizontal pleating and even more comfortable sprung base. The backrest is a bit short and can lead to shoulder/neck ache on a long journey

That is OK, apology received in good taste. :D :D

As for the seats and being comfortable only on short trips, that is going to be fine for us.
She will not be taking very long trips.
We want to keep her as original as we can.

If longer trips are planned we would take our Traveller, which is modified with many improvements for modern day motoring.

Yes it is - and the front seats look different. Have they been replaced?

We replaced the drivers seat with a good secondhand item to keep the original look of the interior.

The car has had a new carpet set fitted.

The rest of the car has just been cleaned thoroughly inside and outside, nothing has been painted or refurbished.

Another project came along last Friday forcing us to consider selling this car. :( :(

Sad to see it go.
