Who is Highland Morris?

Post by sparesman »

Who are you and when have you contacted me for spares?
I send club spares all over the world but apart from a couple of members in Scotland no-one else regularly contacts me for spares from Scotland.
I set up the Club Spares many years ago to help members particularly with MMs and Series 11s,with original and hard to find parts so would not refuse to send parts to any MMOC member if they were available.
Due to the nature of the items we sell and how we source them many are one off items so once it is sold it may take some time to locate another.
Are you sure that you have been sending your emails to the address in Minor Matters?

I second that, Bryan got my original hard to find series 2 swivel pins re-cut a few years ago. A real life saver.

Thank you club spares. :D

I totally agree with the posts above, I am rebuilding a 1952 series mm & Bryan has been very helpfull in finding parts or discussing various items related to the mm & also had a great discussion with him at Cornbery Park in the summer.
Keep up the good work Bryan

I don't see what else the club spares can do if they haven't got what you want. If it happened to me, I'd just say 'Oh ok thanks' :D

I suppose that some people will see the glass as half full, whilst others will see half empty. If one has a big enough chip on one's shoulder, then everything will be seen as a personal slight. In my experience, we couldn't ask for a better service from just about everyone involved in running club activities, including Bryan's excellent club spares service.

Club spares are sourced from "finds" at autojumbles, members who have surplus and offer them to Bryan for use by other members, trips to garage sales, bereavements etc. Most of these parts are the hard to find bits for the earlier cars, so not available from suppliers. The Club can only offer what it can find.

Perhaps Highland Morris could identify himself (name and membership number) by PM to sparesman and then Bryan can offer an informed response...

This is all very strange. Perhaps a MOD would like to get the telephone numbers of both parties - and sort out exactly where the wires have become crossed? And then explain it to the rest of us?

Hard to think why that would be. Unless he misunderstood you but understood your wife. Or you were rude to him, which I'm sure you weren't. Did your wife buy for you in the end?

I can't imagine that Highland is making this up - or that Sparesman would respond in the manner suggested. There MUST be some crossed wires here. Surely a MOD can find out and tell us all what really happened?

In the previous (now locked) thread I advised Highland Morris the best thing to do if he wishes to raise a complaint is to forward details to the club office but he replied he does not wish to do this. I also suggested that if he wanted to forward me specific details via pm I would pass his 'complaint' on. He did not wish to do this either. Bryan has asked for his name but he doesn't wish to give details (other than Charles). Simmitc has suggested that he forward his name and membership number to Bryan via pm so that he can be provided with a reasoned response but he doesn't want to do that either. Under the circumstances I don't see what else can be done :-?
