oh and get a 3 core cable to use one of cores as earth instead of armour it makes terminating into non metallic enclosures at each end easier

That's the same cable - three core armoured instead of two core, just using the third for earth rather than using the outer for earth. Do not use ordinary cable underground, so there is no need to lay it beside the SWA. Depending on local arrangements, it may be necessary to put an earth rod on by the garage, and connect it to the earth circuit. Your sparky will advise.

for the few quid extra B&Q do a 10 way split load board with all breakers for £50 and you got plenty of space to split things up and add extra circuits later , putting the 45a feed in would be just about ideal for my 10p worth
