When I first saw your pic of the voltage stabiliser I thought it didn't look right.

Re: So near yet so far...
Sorted, the gauge now works! Also found suitable piggyback for the heater wire, just replaced the existing connection with a bullet.
That just leaves the brake lights to fix and to work out my the windscreen washer pump isn't pumping anything.
Once again guys, thanks very much for your help.

Re: So near yet so far...
Is the washer one of the standard pump ones? Sometimes you need to prime them to get them to start. Remove the non return valve and clean the end that goes into the bottle, take a mouthful of clean water and blast it up the pipe and hopefully some will come out the jets! Replace the non return valve and hopefully the button should start to work again!
Too many Minors so little time.....

Yep David that's exactly what I did (found you'd recommended that on a previous thread!) and also covered breather hole in bottle lid with my finger and squeezed bottle a few times.

Basically purple (lilac) is a live feed straight from fuse to component, any wire with black tracer, eg purple/black runs from the component to switch (horn push), and black wires connect to earth.
