Fuse rating?

I have a self adhesive rear demister kit but there is no mention in the instructions of fuse protection.
What rating fuse would you recommend?

I had one of these and used a 10 amp fuse without problems.

However it was hardly worth fitting - it lasted about 4 months before the flimsy elements started breaking. By the next Winter it was useless.

True - I think the main problem was that condensation on the rear screen allowed the edges of the clear laminate to start peeling off and the elements crinkled.

Hopefully your demister kit will be of better quality than the one I had?

Hmm, I wonder. I did fit an identical one to another minor but only had it for a few months after.
Judging by the graphics on the box I think it was probably made circa 1982

we had something in the back window of fifi - that may have been an ancient demisting device. very old yellowed stiff plastic plastic bag thing - it looked a bit like one of those back window magnifiers you used to see on coaches. it was very crusty and had a new pair of ugly boots on. needless to say we consigned it to the bin. reminded me of the other 'cheap n nasty' olden days car gadgetry... remember the mini back window wiper that operated by a cable to handle by the driver? class british engineering that

Judging by the graphics on the box I think it was probably made circa 1982

I fitted one of these Rear Screen heaters to my car about a year ago. It's alright so far. Before fitting I washed the inside of the rear window with White Spirit to get any grease off of it. Also, since I was doing it this time of year, I used a hairdryer to remove the condensation that was created by breath, body heat etc, on the inside of the screen while I was installing it. So, as long as the screen remains perfectly dry you should, hopefully, get a good installation.

My Screen Heater draws 4.7 Amps. I picked up my power from the A4 terminal on the fuse box. So it's fused and switched by the ignition switch so it can't be left on inadvertantly. I've had no problems to date.

You are kidding arent you, the kits when I was younger I am sure came from the Land Rover with the separate motor for each wiper.

Thanks for the rating. I have bought a 4 fuse box from a mini as I am adding radio, rear demister, reversing light and electric screen washer.
There's also going to be an immobiliser in a secret location - which I will divulge to no one.
