Front dampers

Post by stroprock »

Will a pair of front dampers from a '56 splitscreen work on a later '67 1000 saloon?

Drain and refill with sae 40 oil (NOT 10W40) for best performance.

Agreed they will fit provided that the dampers are the type suitable for top rubber bushes and not fitted with the threaded top trunnion pin. See Minor workshop manual section K11 - K13 for details.
The top pin can be pressed out and the later type top trunnion pin fitted instead.
