Oil for side valve engine

Post by Morrisminorsplit »

Hello,
I have recently bought a 1952 Morris Minor series2 with the side valve engine. I was wondering what would be the preferred oil to use in it.
Many Thanks

Just the same basic 20W50 we use in all our Minors! The Morrisons/Wilco stuff is fine - just don't expect it to last 'for ever'.....

Halfords do a very good Classic 20/50 oil which is what I use in the side valve. My father in law uses it in his Series E as well. :D

If it has a side valve engine then it is a Series MM, not a Series II. What is the chassis number?
