Identifying a barn find Van 1000

Post by pitmantouring »

Hi - could someone please help me identify any details of my "barn find" Morris Minor Van 1000 which has the following numbers stamped on it. The original paperwork/logbooks are missing and I only have these to go on...
Engine Plate says :- MAV5 1684** (* indicates unreadable numbers or letters)
also 10MA-U-L 798**
The radiator has :- ARA 101 45 62
Bodywork has :- *34764 C12336*
Many thanks in anticipation...

Welcome to the forum - it has a 1098 cc engine! The real experts will be along in a minute or two to explain the rest.

Sorry but cant find any other numbers anywhere... Can I take it therefore that it's a 1964 van & 1000 engine mk5? Is it possible to find anything else significant from the numbers/codes I've got? Cheers

No tax discs either- just loads a rust and green moss... I thought there may be a way of getting some history from the numbers which I've been able to read - but if we cant ...such is life - it wont stop the slow restoration. Thanks to all who have tried to help

Wouldn't give up quite yet, have to be persistant in this game.

Would you let me know (by pm) rough idea of its' discovery and where
it was found - don't need addresses and sort codes, just a few brief
details.

email pics of id plates would be a bonus.

Chris
