A very nice maroon/burgundy splitscreen Traveller in tonight's episode of "Breathless" about 20 minutes ago. Quite a few other rather tasty classics too!

A very early episode of Last of the Summer Wine has the the main three characters buying a cheap car to run about in. After a test drive in a Humber Super Snipe they end up with very scruffy Minor convertible for £30.... It was the 1st series from 1973! Repeated from time to time on Gold - worth a look even if only for the nostalgic look at early '70s West Yorkshire and the other vehicles in view.
i checked the reg on the DVLA website and its unknown so unlikely to be a survivor...

Just found another one:

The Great St. Trinian's Train Robbery

Filmed in 1966 on the Longmoor Military Railway in Hampshire, it features a white Morris Minor Traveller plus Sunbeam Alpine, MG Midget an an American gasoline guzzler.

I seem to recall a few 60's Disney films which featured Minors; there was one where a traveller drove along a harbourside driven by some clean cut guy, (can't recall another thing about the film) and also a Disney comedy film where the bad Guys drove a saloon and i seem to recall bundled someone into the boot!

These were both US films.

Anyone know what they were????
1959 4 door, (first car)
1967 2 door,
1971 Telephone van
1959 2 door 1300 5 speed project yet to be begun.
1974 Mini 1275 Rocket
1958 A35 shed awaiting rescue.
Plus more in the family....

This website may already be posted here but I found it very interesting. It is the International Movie Cars Data Base. You can select a car maker and model and it shows pictures of the movies in which the car appeared. There are 39 pictures of Travelers.

William my 1960 smoke grey convertible appeared with Ann Widdecombe in an episode of Britain's Hidden History and with various celebs in Celebrity Antique Road Trip. It broke down on Richard Wilson (Victor Meldrew).[frame]Image[/frame]

My '53 convertible must rate as the 'most pushed car' on its Antiques Road Trip outing. Still not sure what all the problems were about, its been pretty reliable since I had it back. I suspect a lot was down to 'non old car sympathetic stewardship'...
I see on your pic that they still don't know how to fold a hood properly!

And for the more obscure, a short film called 'Trimming Pablo' about Picasso's visit to Sheffield in 1950.

My convertible in the background 19seconds in on the clip. Oh the joys of fame and fortune.....

I just watched for the nth time the 1st episode of the 1st season of the UK series Heartbeat. Within the first minute you see a Morris Traveller in the garage.

Any one just been watching Rhys Griff-Jones programme on Wales this evening? He was in Pembrokeshire for this programme and he came across a collection of Minors in various states of decay (some with good DE registrations) at a country garage (I did not catch the location). He spoke with the old boy who owns them and was given a lift in one. Interesting.

I imagine many of the cars that man drove broke down, bet it was the gearbox he wrecked, I can still hear the noises he made when changing gear?

Apparently he'd only driven automatics for the previous 30 years hence the gear crunching :-?
