Rear leaf spring securing clamps

Post by bjbrownie »

Does anybody know where I can get the clamps that keep the rear leaf springs together (there's 3 on each side which have a rubber inner), I haven't seen them in spares catalogs only new spring assembly's . 8)

I'd appreciate advice on that too. I had one broken one on mine which I welded back together on minimum heat.

exhaust u-bolts work well as a temporary solution (which have bestowed mine for a year thus far of 'ill get round to making something neater that that one day') ;-)

Years back I use to read the American hot rod magazines and one of the tips I copied was to put several clamps around the front half of the spring leaves to reduce axle tramp and it worked very well. I now have proper rose jointed traction bars fitted.
