Takeoff for LPG vapouriser ..

In theory this should come from the heater feed and on most cars you end up with a plastic T-Piece in the rubber hose that goes to the Heater (so it's before the thermostat).

If I did that on a moggie then I would have to leave the heater tap open all the time which would make summers a little warm :( Does anyone know of a supplier for a "Flange T piece" of the correct size to fit on the back of the engine? I guess the best would be a pair of flanges (so that the tap was 1 1/2 inches or so up) and a serated T so that the vapouriser could be attached with a jubillee clip.

The return does a "straight" T to the hose on the radiator .

Does anyone have any ideas how or where to do this ?

I have teed into the supplyfrom the heater valve, As you say this makes the heater valve redundant. So I have fitted a tap under the dash in the heater feed. I got this from EuropaSpares, a kit car spares firm, they are on www.europaspares.com. You can get the valves either cable or hand operated. The return I first teed into the heater return on the bottom hose,this made the remaining piece too short between the tee and the main hose, It split on the junction after a few weeks. New hose fitted ,this time tee into end of hose,metal return pipr bent up and a short length of hose fitted between metal pipe and tee. Been okay for 18 month and still looking good.

Hello JM,

do you still have the blank at the front of the cylinder head? , i.e. no extra temperature gauge. If so you could screw in a pipe adapter (3\8" BSP as a guess?) and take your feed from there.

I do, that is a much better idea than the Heath Robinson contraption I was thinking of to make. The flow would in theory be a little on the light side for the vapouriser I'm useing. On the other hand I could fit a solenoid into the output and wire it into the circuit. This would mean that all starts would be on petrol in winter but that's not so terrible ..
