LP896 Rims

Post by MaltaMM »

Hi, I am currently preparing a set of five matching rims for my 1967 Morris Minor Maltese bodied pick up which was originally an ex GPO van. In my collection of rims I have the standard saloon LP802 rims which are 4 inches wide from the inner rim to the outer rim. I also have rims which are marked LP896 and measure 4 1/4 inches wide from the inner rim to the outer rim. I haven't managed to find any reference on the forum to these rims as opposed to the wider LP917 and LP936 rims. Does anyone know on which variant of the Morris Minor were the LP896 rims originally fitted? Thanks

Is this the xGPO Utility with a 1968 id, but a 1966 cab?
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
