Floor to sill

Post by Trafalgar blue »

Can anyone tell me where the right hand side of the front floor attaches? Is that side of the floor panel bent down or upwards? Is there any pictures on here of a new floor fitted in place? Many thanks

The seam at the front between the pedals and wheelarch? The join should go up on the inside of the car, if it was on the outside it would be a water trap.

Heres a super restoration with lots of pics as reference

Thanks guys, yeah that makes sence regarding the water trap. It's the seam on the right hand side next to inner sill. Still not 100% sure, I've ordered a door hinge repair, floor edge inner front & rear, outer undersill & I've already got the boxing plate. Once I've got it all here I maybe able to see what's what & sort out the last owners handy work  sorry looks like you'll need to tilt your head  [frame]Image[/frame]

Underneath the floor edge panel (above) is the floor spot welded to the chassis?

When the minor was new the floor edge panel was part of the floor pressing, most minors will have had this bit of the sill replaced as it nearly always rots out. The original way it was welded was big spot welds that went through the sill step from the top and along the floor edge. On this car we welded it on with big plug welds and a couple of extra strengthening seem welds also. The top row of plugs goes onto the edge of the boxing plate.

Just trying to figure it out, I have some holes in the floor which would be covered by the floor edge panel. Trying to get my head round the best way to repair it and in what order, thanks
