Morris minors in films and TV shows.

Post by Minornut59 »

Right, can anyone suggest any tv show or film the Morris Minor has appeared in, even if its been once? And even better, shows for the USA or other countries as well as home grown TV too?

I'll start off;

Lovejoy,
Some Mothers Do Ave em..

And, rather interestingly, a red Minor pick up appeared in an episode of Battlestar Galactica....!!! I kid you not!!
1959 4 door, (first car)
1967 2 door,
1971 Telephone van
1959 2 door 1300 5 speed project yet to be begun.
1974 Mini 1275 Rocket
1958 A35 shed awaiting rescue.

Got to get in quickly here as it's the only one I can think of just now.......Roy and Hayley Croppers' lovely Traveller in Coronation Street.

There was a Minor Traveller in the movie "Caprica", it appeared in a couple of scenes. There is also a brief view of the back of a Minor 1000 in the movie "Signs" just as the alien was seen for the first time.

Fairly sure there's a couple in 'Carry On Doctor' and other Carry On films I'm sure, but that one springs to mind.

Ok, rather than the links can we list them as well?

There is one, possibly more, Minors parked on the sides of the street in Bullitt when Steve McQueen is doing his famous Ford Mustang car chase through the streets.
And in one episode of the TV Series of Mission Impossible from around 1966, the bad guys drive a Minor 1000 convertible!!

1967 2 door,
1971 Telephone van
1959 2 door 1300 5 speed project yet to be begun.
1974 Mini 1275 Rocket
1958 A35 shed awaiting rescue.

I'll never forget the Morris Minor Van chase in the movie "The Steal".

It's on youtube:

And there is even a German movie with comedian Otto featuring a very tatty Minor Traveller:

The Minor appears at 10:20 and can be seen for few moments.

I've found something else:

http://minormania.com/feature.php?id=2110

I've watched all of the James Bond movies in cinema or on tv, but I honestly can't recall Sean Connery in Thunderball in a Minor Convertible. I hope it'll be on tv again soon, I must keep my eyes open then.

Cheers

There was a blue Minor van featured prominently in an episode of The Avengers which i think was called, ' The Positive Negative man'. It was apparently capable of being electrified!!
