If i can expand on my project i'm looking into converting a morris minor van into a street food catering vehicle by installing a wood fired oven into the back. See picture below for mock up. The ovens weigh around 500-700kg. Are there any modifications I could do to accommodate this idea? Somebody told me that the 6cwt vehicles had a carry load of 800kg. However 6cwt would only work out to a carry load of around 320kg. Would really appreciate any more information or advice anyone has.
They all have the same chassis . Fitted with 8 leaf springs and some wider wheels you should be ok fo

Might be a struggle getting up steep hills ,unless you've still got the granny tranny diff . But then it's a slog on a run
It's the weight of the oven that's the issue really, as long as the petrol tank isn't leaking.
Either invent your own or pick one that was designed to be moved and not live in someones garden.
The essential elements seem to be the surface the food is cooked on and being wood fired, not that the body of the oven has to be heavy.

I'm sure that you've though of this, but insulate the side of the van to avoid blistering the paint by heat from the oven. You could tow a trailer to carry your wood supply. Just checked my logbook and it's 6cwt , which is about 7 bags of cement.I've had way more than that in the back in it,with no problems . We regularly used to put two motorcycle's plus our gear and go to the track
Small bags down to elfandsafetee and also they are not real men on building sites these days couldn't drink a stewed cup of tea made on a blow lamp, those were the days.
