Reported this on Saturday to ebay. They are normally quick and this would of been removed by now...

I this this is one of those "grey areas" the vendor states clearly that he still has the vehicle - so this is not just the sale of the V5 and registration number/chassis plate.

Perfectly legal as ASL says but probably has not got the shell and is covering himself a well known con on Ebay  .

Never come across a chassis plate falling off a bulkhead!

Is my eyesight failing me, cannot see a prefix on the plate?

Chassis plate looks wrong too(?)
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Sick of seeing these,Its time either Ebay or dvla got a grip of this, The seller Is advertising a scrapper, but any ringer would be interested in the Cars ID.However,in this case the seller would be clear of the law, because he would notify dvla of the sale of the VEHICLE,dvla would send out the new v5 to the new owner and away he goes. Probably not a great problem as far as moggies ,but what about high end expensive vehicles. Very difficult to police,no answer to it really. In this age of electronics it must be easy for e bay etc .,to flag this sort of listing and then notify dvla of a possible cloning so that they can follow it up

ask the vendor for the body number, usually tell whether the vehicle
exists if he/she cannot muster a number!

Anyone know what the chassis prefix is on this?

Plate seems to read ?AT/5 1138(3or5)94. Reg document says saloon, plate seems to say convertible?

Don't need to be Nostradamus to work out what MAY happen
to this id in the future.
